Oh, Chicago….how our love/hate relationship continues. There are days when I love being in your presence, for all that your beautiful city has to offer! Beach volleyball with great friends on Friday nights, Buckingham Fountain where Kyle proposed to me, and Joe’s bar where I get to experience the best country concerts ever. But, there are quite a few disappointments that you cause me as well. You are the home to my favorite baseball team…..yes, that’s right, the Cubbies. But, we just can’t seem to win that darn WS already! If that’s not bad enough for ya, let’s talk about the heinous weather patterns in the infamous “Windy City”. I mean, I don’t think there is any other place where it feels like Fallish, October temps in the middle of June or we acquire as much rain as Brazil! Last night, tornado sirens were going off for a near hour. Really?! Come on! Well, no more complaints from this lady. That’s because I’m headed off to REAL summer weather in 1 day. Hello Naples, Florida! That’s right, you heard me right…….Kyle and I are headed there for our one year wedding anniversary. Crazy…….can’t believe time has gone by so quickly already. I will definitely have a ton of photos to share upon my return. In the meantime, take a look at some more of my Argentina pics. Can’t wait, because Matt and Chris come back from this amazing country on July 2nd. So glad I was able to take a trip and visit them before they left! To start, here are the wonderful, most hospitable hosts you could have asked for! Matt and Chris 🙂
Sweet home…

I must say, he was VERY proud of his “egg toss/flip” that I happened to capture on my camera!
The rest of these pictures are of FOOD….yep, the delectable, mouth watering, make your mouth salivate, Argentinian FOOD! Matt and Chris made me homemade bread that was awesome….and we certainly went to some fabulous cafes and restaurants. Check it out!
Chef Mateo cooking up a perfect breakfast…..topped off with fresh squeezed orange juice!!
Chris taught me how to make a loaf of bread from scratch……whew, it took a lot of time and energy 🙂
And onto the beverages….beer and wine at its finest!
The following snapshots are from a wonderful restaurant we visited. The appetizers were unreal….empanadas, a fried cheese concoction called provoletta (highly recommended by my bro…..we are a cheese loving family), and veggie plate, amongst many others!
I have to admit, though, that the Kobe beef that I ordered (supposed to be one of the best types of meat in the world) was just average. It didn’t WOW me. Maybe I have too high of expectations, but I’m not really all that much of a red meat person anyhow. It just doesn’t really do it for me!
Now, what better to finish off a meal with some dessert. CHOCOLATE was the winner! We visited a chocolate shop and got some of the infamous cookie type treat called Alfajores. They hit the spot!
Argentina is also abundant in cafes and little pizzerias. We stopped one afternoon at a few and the pizza was one of the most fresh and flavorful I’ve ever tasted! Of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cheese bread that came out first…..gotta have some cheese!!!
And I can’t forget about the frozen sorbet……..um, there are no words. It was heaven in my mouth!
Well, I don’t know about you, but my stomach is now grumbling. All this talk about food just made me quite hungry. Pizza and raspberry sorbet sound perfect at the moment!
Until next time…..Carpe Diem!
