They are extremely easy to make and I loved how colorful they turned out. You can make them in any color you want. They are perfect for a birthday, holiday, or dessert for a family gathering. I made them in purple and blue to celebrate a friend’s engagement. They work for any occasion. Who knew they had these little guys at Starbucks?!? If I knew this…..I would definitely be a frequent customer. I don’t drink coffee, but I certainly love some sweets!
Following cake pops came my second DIY project attempt. One of the areas in our house that is currently lacking a bit in terms of furniture is our upstairs loft/office. I’ve been scouring the internet for a desk, but in the meantime, I wanted to try and restore something a bit simpler first. So, off to Goodwill I went in search of something exciting. BAM! First visit and I scored big time. I picked up this beautiful, antique looking chair for…….wait for it, wait for it………….$4.99. Yep, that’s it. Super cheap, right? It looked somewhat like this when I took it home. The original chair was brown, but the photo shows the black primer on it with the original seat cushion:

Look at those legs! Aren’t they something?!
Haha……I just fell in love with this chair and knew instantly that I wanted it to accompany my future vintage/antique style desk.
Now, it’s just a matter of time before I find the perfect wingman for this piece!
After I finished this chair, I realized that the new fabric I chose is VERY similar to the original design and I didn’t know it when I bought it ON SALE (50% off) for $4.00 at Joanne Fabrics.
A chair for less than $10 when all was said and done 🙂
AFTER
So, this was just the start to my new little hobby!
More projects to come soon……..
Until next time….Carpe Diem!
