Friends & Family Friday: JUNE…Where Did You Go?!

The month of June felt like it had come and gone in a millisecond.
Every single weekend was completely packed with events
and I’m surprised I made it through alive!
To begin the month, my son turned one and we hosted his birthday party during the first weekend of June.  It was a wonderful celebration with many of our family and friends, but planning for it all took a lot out of this lady.

Yet, his smiling face always makes it worthwhile.

Fast forward to the second weekend in June and it was Father’s Day!  We made the 4 1/2 hour trip down to spend time with my husband’s family.  It was full of fun, from our niece’s first dance recital, to our nephew’s first birthday party (my son and him are roughly 4hrs apart….crazy, huh!?), to Father’s day happenings.  The weather was perfect and company even better.
Moving onto the third weekend was when we left for our week vacation in Naples, Florida.  E went swimming in the pool, visited the beach for the very first time and went in the ocean!  It was sunny and perfect almost every day we were down there.  Oh…if only I could teleport myself back right now.

(Auntie Ran and Jax man enjoying the beautiful scenery)

Once we returned from our trip, we came back to our home looking like this.
Yes, after 5 months of being out of our home (In late January, we came home from a FL vacation to a pipe that burst, resulting in extensive water damage.), we FINALLY got to move home.  Although there were boxes everywhere….we were happy to be back.  While were are extraordinarily grateful that we got to live with family and spend so much quality time with my parents, it is nice to get back into the swing of things!
Once we were somewhat settled and back into our house, it was time to get a few important tasks completed.  E had to get working on his Thank You cards for his sports party.  So, I made these cards and FINALLY got the chance to send them out.  I tell ya….what a relief it is to lick those stamps and send these puppies in the mail.  Thank you cards take FOREVER to write.  While we are insanely grateful for everyone who came to celebrate and the wonderful gifts received, these little cards really eat up quite a bit of time…..especially when all you want to do is kick your feet up and have a glass of wine!!
As June came to a close, I was really looking forward to one of my favorite holidays.  What can beat backyard BBQ’s, fireworks, fests, parades, and just the overall feeling of community.  We took E to his very first firework show and he did GREAT!!  What a trooper he was,
especially staying up way past his bedtime.
This happy guy reminds me to stop and savor each day, even the not so exciting ones….regardless of how busy life seems to be at the given moment.
For the remainder of summer, I plan to soak up and ENJOY as
much as possible…..just not at the rapid pace like the month of June 🙂
