Welcome to Part 3 of the “Gift Guide for Kids” series! Last year, I shared my Ultimate Arts & Crafts gift guide (find it HERE), yesterday was our favorite Outdoor/Nature themed gifts (which you can see HERE), and now I’m showcasing some of our favorite “Glow/Light up” themed items! Our family owns each of the gifts listed, so the opinions are our own. If you know a child that loves all things that light up or glow, you’ve come to the right place! Here are just a few of our favorites, for kids of varying ages!
1.) LED Jellyfish Lamp
According to all 3 of my kids, this is the best night light around! They love how real the jellyfish look as they float in the water. With 6 different color options, you can keep it on one color or have it cycle through them all!
2.) GlowCity Light up LED sports balls
While we own the glow-in-the-dark soccer ball, they also offer a basketball and football version, too! This isn’t your standard glow up product, requiring a lot of light for it to sustain it’s power. There is a tiny LED light inside and it emits a very bright orange glow when kicked. My boys LOVE playing with this in the dark, whether it’s outside for a friendly neighborhood game or down in our basement for some footwork/skills practice! We definitely give this item a GLOWING review!
3.) Glowing Bath Time Cubes
This isn’t just for toddlers, as my 8 year old sure got a kick out of these, too! We have quite the disco bath parties with these little bath cubes. Once they are submerged under water, the lights glow. We add glow sticks with these, turn on our disco ball with some fun music, and bath time is made magical! It’s not easy getting them out to dry off when you have fun and simple toys like this to keep them entertained!
4.)Multi-color Bike Lights
I’m sure many of you remember the brightly colored bike spokes we all had growing up that made that clicking noise. Well, these up the ante! With the little bit of flare added to nighttime rides, my kids love seeing their favorite colors light up on their bike as they zoom around their neighborhood!
5.) Disco Ball/Party Strobe light
We are ALL about dance parties in our house! Grab your Echo, head down to the basement, turn off all the lights, play some upbeat music, and start this disco ball light. Throw in some of the light up balloons below and put on your LED gloves, and you’re all set for a truly epic dance party! It’s a guaranteed GREAT time by anyone who participates!
6.) Princess light up costume
My daughter could wear this dress every day, if I let her! Similar to Elsa or an ice princess, this costume is truly brought to life with the LED lights under the tulle skirt part of the dress. It turns imaginary, make-believe play into a magical experience!
7.) Marbled Light Up Balloons
That dance party I spoke of above….this is the perfect addition to elevate your atmosphere! On summer nights, we blow up these balloons and let the kids play with them on our trampoline. They have a complete blast as they float and bounce around in the dark! If you don’t own a trampoline, no worries, we add them to a dark room in our house and make fun games to play with them.
8.) LED gloves & shoelaces
Because we only have one set of these gloves, they are often fought over, with arguments over who gets to wear them first! With just a little wiggle of your fingers and shake of the hands, these have become one of the items my kids request most for our family dance parties. Once you put them on, it’s hard not to imagine you’re out at a club or on stage at a pop concert! They are the perfect accessory for any celebration!
No matter your age, it’s always fun to add some GLOW to your celebrations! From toddlers to preteens, there is something on this list for everyone. I sure hope these gifts LIGHT UP the holidays for your kids!
