Lucky

Just in case I die tomorrow, I want you to know how much I love these two kids. Alexa. She is unlike any other…loving, sassy, beautiful, smart, and has a mind of her own. Yep, I guess you could say she’s a little like me….we both have a mind of our own 🙂 Alexa has autism, but it certainly does not define her. She teaches me more about life than I could ever teach her. She teaches me patience….lots of it!! She teaches me to look at things in a new light, a completely different perspective. I now ask myself, what is normal?

Normal is boring. Normal is living in the status quo. Normal is doing what others expect of you. Normal is safe and comfortable. Alexa helps me to realize that life is about adventure, the unknown, change, adaptability, and stepping out of your comfort zone. She is a true gift, and oh how lucky I am to have her in my life! Oh….and oh can I explain in words this next handsome lad…

Dylan Micah. He is a gentle, kindhearted, and giving spirit. You can’t even begin to imagine the happiness he brings to my life. His thoughtfulness and sincerity is what makes him so special. He is smart, and no I’m not just a biased aunt, he really REALLY is!! Although I am extremely competitive in nature, just like his dad, one of my favorite parts about Dylan is his desire to have fun and learn, and not have to win at everything. He enjoys life. Dylan is artistic and creative. He is unlike any other child, in the absolute best way imaginable!

OKAY, OKAY…..can you tell I love my niece and nephew?!
