My Best Friend’s Wedding…

is just around the corner!   Three weeks and counting…..and my Shanny will be tying the knot to Mr. John Michael 🙂   This past weekend, a few of us hosted her bridal shower and were so excited to experience this happy time with her.  My insanely creative friends and I collaborated ideas to plan a bridal shower for a person who deserves nothing but the best in this world.  It was an afternoon full of food, friends, family, smiles, laughter, new memories, and anticipation for the big day!

Shanny and I met our freshman year in college and have been friends ever since.  We lived together four 4 years after we graduated and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.  I miss her tons and wish I could still sit with her on the couch after a long day of work….just chatting and sharing stories.  Shanny is the type of friend everyone wishes they had….genuine, loyal beyond compare, honest, selfless to an unprecedented degree, generous and thoughtful, funny….but with a WICKED sense of humor that just makes you laugh, and an overall sincerity that is extremely rare and hard to find in a friend.  John, you are one amazing guy……but a damn lucky one, too!  You both are compassionate, thoughtful, and fun-loving people and I am absolutely certain that you will make each other extremely happy for the rest of your lives (well, as long as you are nice to her cats!) lol.  Enjoy this new adventure and always know I love you guys xoxo

So, here are some snapshots from the shower……Enjoy!

Scrapbook supplies, picture frames, flower vases, gift bags……..
just the very start of it all……..
The frames and vases were fun to make……..even if they turned out a slight barbie pink.  Eh….it’s okay! The thought that counts, right?   Well, her primary color for the wedding is orange, and pink accompanies it. The wedding is a destination in Punta Cana…..tropical, romantic, feminine!
Below……a scrapbook table complete with all of the necessities.  Each guest was asked to fill out a special sentiment card and bring along a photo to attach.  In the end, the scrapbook was filled with insightful words of wisdom and advice for the bride and groom 🙂
My friend, Tera, is a graphic designer and crazy talented artist who was one of the other shower hosts. (check out her ETSY shop here).  She designed the unique signs below for the bride to be.  Aren’t these touches so cute?!
My friend, Lindsey, from New York, flew in just for the weekend.  Her creativity brought the shower to another level.  The tables were perfect, from the flowers, vases, chairs….. all the way to the serve ware!  Simply gorgeous…

Specially made tags for the “presentation shower” gift display table

The start of the gift table……before all of the presents started pouring in 🙂
The food table…..there was a delicious spread that consisted of veggies, fruit, cheese/sausage, mostaciolli, rigatoni, and three kinds of salad.  Yum!!

The delicious raspberry punch made by the other
party planner, Meghan (Shan’s amazing sister).
And then………
It was time for the party to begin.  The guest of honor made her appearance….stunning as always!!
Two of the party planners…..Tera and Lindsey
Shanny with her mom……and then her dad!  Such a good lookin family 🙂

The groom arrived for some games and gifts!

John, being a veterinarian, and Shan being the extreme animal lover that she is, the game that we played perfectly suited the two of them!  We had to hold up cards with a “Woof” and “Meow”and answer questions about both of them.  They held up their cards to give the final answer!  Cute game!

Folks….this was just a sneak peek!  More pics will be posted shortly on my facebook.
Keep an eye out for more to come!
Until next time….CARPE DIEM!
