(Singing out loud…) It’s the MOST wonderful time of the yeeeeear!! Oh how I love the holidays. But, with it comes a lot of shopping, which can be fun…OR a lot of added stress, especially with all the people to buy for. Once your kids are in school, there will be many teachers, coaches, babysitters, bus drivers, etc. to get gifts! This shouldn’t deter you from letting people know they matter and are valued. You can do this on a budget and still make it thoughtful!
Having worked at an elementary school for 9 years, I would often get asked what it is that teachers want as a gift for the holidays. The cute presents are great and make you smile, but if I’m being honest….it is the gift cards that are most utilized and appreciated. So, with both of my boys having had two teachers each, I knew that I needed to keep things simple and easy for this busy mama! Shopping takes up SO much time and can become quite costly!
Last year, I came across these adorable snowman bags at Hobby Lobby and just couldn’t pass them up. They were the perfect size to slip a gift card in, accompanied by a few sweet treats. Because, who doesn’t like Target and chocolate?! Right down the street, we have a Fannie Mae chocolate shop, so I stopped in and snagged a couple small boxes of Trinidad’s, which look like mini “snowballs”. If you don’t know me well, you’ll soon learn my affinity for creating “themes” with gifts :). To top it off, I grabbed this cute snowman gift card from Target to complete the gift!
Because one of my son’s teachers had a gluten intolerance, I wanted to be sure not to do a food/candy type item within the bag. So, I came across these adorable snowman bath bombs to include with an Ulta gift card…a fun, little beauty bag. Because I bought the bags last season, it’s often tough to find the same ones again. So, I’ve included other suggestions later in the post.
To pull it all together, I wanted a festive tag as the finishing touch. So, I created these “SNOW one like you” printable tags. For all you busy parents out there, make gift buying simple and easy. Download these free cards below. Don’t let anyone go unappreciated this holiday season!
A couple more ideas to really get festive, add any of these cute items to pull the theme together!
FOR TEACHERS
For starters, grab these cute cellophane snowman bags (20 in a bag). Then, grab a snowman designed gift card at Target to tuck inside…
Then, during one of your morning visits to Starbucks, snag one of their adorable snowman cookies to stick in the bag, too! Lastly, close up the bag and attach the free printable card I’ve made for you!
If you want to add another cute element to this gift, you can include this box set of my favorite winter books in the Snowmen Series, which I loved reading to my students. If you haven’t heard of Snowmen at Night, Snowmen at Work, Snowmen All Year, or Snowmen at Christmas….well, you can thank me later. The only one not included in this series is Snowmen at Play. While I was teaching, I had so many fun writing activities to follow along with this story. I think most teachers would love this….and it fits perfectly into this “SNOW one quite like you” gift theme!
FOR FRIENDS, COWORKERS, NEIGHBORS, PARTY HOSTESS….ANYONE!!
Need a quick, but fun idea to bring to the host of a party, someone at work, or a close friend? Well, in my book, you can’t ever go wrong with a bottle of wine. Am I right….or am I right?! Again, this doesn’t take much planning or preparation on your part. Just head to your local store and pick up a bottle. Then, add this clever wine cover from Party City (only $4), along with the printable tag above, and you’ve got yourself a cute and simple holiday gift!
You all….you CAN go the extra mile without it taking much effort and time. I’m really hoping these ideas I’ve shared will encourage you to let those around you how much you care this holiday season!
