So, Superbowl is in a few days, and although my team hasn’t been in it since the 80’s (yes, we’re terrible), I still enjoy the festivities that circle around this event.
It’s a fun time to spend with friends and family, while enjoying some delicious food!
Whether you’re hosting or attending a party, it’s important to find a dish that is simple yet tasty! Being a mom with young kids, time is of the essence, so I look for something that everyone will love but won’t create a huge mess in my kitchen of require a lot of time to make! Here are 10 of my favorite recipes that I’ve either made or tried and HIGHLY recommend you give a go. They are crowd pleasers, for sure, with no leftovers to take home! I’m not really a skilled chef or cook all that often, so if I can make these, believe me…you can, too!! It will be worth the effort to try a few of these out, if not all. Drum roll please….in no particular order, here are my favorites:
Buffalo Chicken Meatballs / Tidy Mom
Whether it’s buffalo chicken dip, wings, pizza, or meatballs…it’s a winner in my book! I’ll admit, it’s intimidating when you have to actually make your own meatballs rather than buy them, but Tidy Mom provides a video tutorial on how to make these little gems, which is super easy. Don’t be wary, you’ll be glad you did it this way. They are the perfect appetizer for game day!
7 layer Taco Dip in a Cup / The Girl Who Ate Everything
We all know that Superbowl parties are a family affair, so kids will most likely be in attendance. Nothing worse than food choices that are overly messy or need your continual oversight as they snack (which is constantly). These taco dip cups are perfect to contain the mess (even for adults…don’t kid yourself). Plus, then you don’t have to hover over the bowl of dip scooping non-stop with your tortilla chips. Instead, sit where you like in front of the tube and enjoy the game with ease!
Hamburger Dip / Your Modern Family
I’m sure many of you have had or made a version of this dip before. If you haven’t…you’re missing out! It’s one of my go-to options for parties. This dip has minimal ingredients, which makes it quick to make and ALWAYS has me coming back for more. Seriously, it’s addicting! If you’re a cheese lover like myself, you are sure to love this recipe.
Pepperoni Pizza Cupcakes / The Recipe Rebel
Although I make these with a slight twist, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve brought this dish somewhere! We call ours Pizza Wonton Bites. So many people ask me how to make them and they are SO SIMPLE. It’s the perfect finger food and always has you coming back for more. Instead of pepperoni, I use ground italian sausage. I typically just brown that in a pan first, then add preferred spices (oregano, basil, garlic, etc.), and stir in the pizza sauce (Pastorelli Brand is the best!). After it is scooped into the baked wonton, add a little mozzerella on top and you’re done! Easy as pie…truly!
Ham and Cheese Sliders / The Girl Who Ate Everything
I honestly bring these mini sandwiches to parties during every season, no joke. They are just THAT GOOD! From barbecues in the summertime to Superbowl parties in the winter. The only difference between this recipe and the version I make is substituting plain dinner rolls with Hawaiian rolls, while using Honey Dijon mustard instead of traditional yellow. It makes a difference and they are so stinkin tasty! These are little bites of goodness that you can’t pass up!
Sausage Stuffed Mini Sweet Peppers / Dear Crissy
So my sister-in-law made these for Thanksgiving this year and, after taking the first bite, I immediately asked her to send me this recipe she found. I downed more of these peppers than I should have, that’s for sure! The best part is that these peppers are amazing served warm, but sure as heck can be eaten cold as leftovers, which are just as tasty! I brought them to my family’s Christmas Eve celebration this year and they were a huge hit.
Football Deviled Eggs / Party City
If you know me at all, then you understand my love for food that is festive! It’s fun to make something that follows a particular theme. Deviled eggs are one of my all-time favorite snacks, especially because they are so simple. Love that all you have to do is add some chives to these, and you have yourself little football eggs! Party City certainly has all of the necessary party goods to accompany this cute recipe, from plates to napkins to cups and more!
Easy Vegetable Pizza / Wanna Bite
Not all party food has to be fried or something to feel guilty about eating. This easy vegetable pizza is more on the healthier side, and the beauty of it, is you can pack as many different veggies on it that you want! There are no rules here, folks. This appetizer is served cold, so it’s great that you can make it ahead of time, too. This is another dish that is often gone in seconds!
S’more Pretzel Bites / Crafty Recipes
Okay, a party isn’t complete without a sweet treat or dessert of some kind. My sweet tooth is something to be tamed, but having diabetes, it’s important that I have access to bite-sized versions of dessert! These mini S’more bites are the perfect solution. They sure pack a punch in one, little bite. Mmmm…my mouth is watering just thinking about them! Many times, traditional s’mores are a touch too big for me, so these are the perfect size, and you can always go back for more, if desired!
Football Puppy Chow / The First Year
This is the last but CERTAINLY NOT the least. I grew up loving puppy chow (or as I’ve always called it….muddy buddies.) You can’t go wrong with a giant bowl full of this chocolate, peanut-butter goodness. I’d take this over popcorn any day! I particularly love the almond footballs and green colored chex mix incorporated. The cool part is you can make it any color you want (team colors, I would imagine). In my opinion, this is the go-to version of a trail mix that every party must have!
Now, that my mouth is watering, as I imagine yours is too, save these recipes to Pinterest so you have access to them anytime you need! Make your Superbowl gathering a success with these delectable dishes. Just don’t go home expecting any leftovers coming with ya!
