TIME.
It’s a valuable commodity.
Sometimes..
It’s something we wish we could get back.
It’s something we wish we could freeze.
It’s something we wish we could have more of.
Being a new mom, my days often seem to run together. No matter how well I prioritize, my to-do list feels as if it multiplies. Cross off one item and add two more. That’s typically how the cycle goes. How many instances have we heard ourselves say, “If only there were more time in the day….” Sadly, if we took a step outside of our life and watched how we spend our time, I think a lot of us would see that much of it is filled with minutia….insignificant, meaningless tasks….things that we wouldn’t remember 5, 10, or even 50 years from now. Let’s be honest. How often do you find yourself checking your phone instead of having a conversation with someone next to you? How often do you choose to watch TV over reading a good book or interacting with your child? How often does work overcome family time? Busyness can very well interfere with our ability to live out our dreams, pursue passions, foster relationships, engage with others, try something new, or simply slow down, look around, and savor the moment. Busyness becomes a dictator in our life….ruling our existence and shaping our experiences. Because we move at such a fast pace and deem success by how much we accomplish in a days worth of work, we frequently find ourselves depleted, both physically and mentally…running on empty.
TIME.
It’s a valuable commodity.
And so, I pose this question for you to ponder and think about…
If you were given one extra hour each day,
what would you do with it??
what would you do with it??
Maybe some of us would sleep…or journal…or exercise…or pray…or go somewhere….or learn something….or just simply sit and observe the things around you. It doesn’t have to be profound. Whatever it may be, I hope you find and make the time to do something each day that is meaningful and worthy of remembering! Make it count, for life is short…..
