Hello Melly Moments readers, I’m Heather from Krafts and Kiddos. I’m so excited Mel invited me over to share with you today! Today I’m sharing a super easy and amazingly fun Edible Bath Paint and Shaving Cream recipe.
My son received a kids shaving cream set for his birthday. He absolutely loved the idea of a play shaving set, which included child safe shaving cream. Although it was not edible. After my little guy enjoyed using the whole can I decided I’d make a fun edible shaving cream.
That is where this recipe came to life.
What’s so cool is you only need 3 ingredients
to make this awesome edible recipe.
to make this awesome edible recipe.
Cool Whip – Whipped Cream
Food Coloring
Powdered Sugar
Isn’t that great, just a few things are needed and you’re on your way to making an amazing bath time fun for your kids. You will need a few small bowls to mix each color. I also grabbed popsicle sticks to stir the mix together, this way there were less dishes afterwards. Paintbrushes can be used to decorate the tub.
First, scoop about 1 cup of Cool Whip into a small bowl and add food coloring of your choice. I add about 10 drops to get the right consistency and color.
Repeat this step for each color of paint you plan to use.
Once you have mixed up each color you’d like to use (we made 6 total), you can either take each small bowl to the bath, or place each color into a cupcake pan. I found this to be easier to have all the paints in one tray – so we used a cupcake pan. Once you arrive at the tub, place your cupcake tray or bowls on the side of the bathtub, this way you don’t get it completely soaked before the kids have some good ol’ fun.
Then just let the kids create, play, and use their imaginations. My daughter drew a sun and flower picture. She also soaked her face in the paint as a “beauty” mask. But, lucky for us it’s edible, yeah!!!!
Initially I thought my son would only pretend to shave using his paints, but he started to color the walls and his face, so this recipe doubles as both bath paint and pretend shaving cream, can’t beat that.
Smiles all around for these kids, creating and enjoying every minute of this edible paint recipe.
So the next time you’re looking for a fun activity for your little ones to enjoy, try this easy to make edible bath paint recipe that also doubles as edible shaving cream. Plus, it’s easy clean up… just rinse with water.
This is such a big hit at our house, I’m sure this will be a hit at your home too. Let us know how your recipe turns out, do your kids love bath paints too?
